Jose Mourinho has claimed he is eyeing a return to football management, though does not want to take on the wrong opportunity. The Portuguese has been linked with various roles since departing Roma and momentum has built recently over a third stint at Chelsea. How many times have you heard: ‘I’ve got good news and bad news for you’? Well, it feels a little bit like that for fans of the Knicks today, who were awaiting an update on one of their key men. Sitting fourth in the NBA ’s Eastern Conference (29-17), the New York team is hoping that one of its stars, Julius Randle, won’t be out for too long, after news emerged that he would be sidelined for a few weeks due to a dislocated right shoulder, as reported by The Athletic on Monday. Ex-Man Utd coach explains why 'opinionated' Cristiano Ronaldo struggled with return to club

Former Manchester United assistant coach Mike Phelan has suggested that Cristiano Ronaldo was a "lot more opinionated " in his second spell at Old Trafford, which was seemingly a factor that led to the superstar's premature split from the club at the end of 2022. United had beaten local rivals Manchester City to Ronaldo’s signature in the summer of 2021 when the five-time Ballon d'Or was ready for a new challenge after three years with Juventus. Although there were early reports that Ronaldo was quickly frustrated by an apparent drop in standards from the club he had left as a three-time Premier League champion in 2009 to the one he joined 12 years later, he still finished the 2021/22 season as top scorer with 24 goals. However, United as a team had their worst ever Premier League campaign in terms of final points tally. It was also their fewest number of wins in a league season since 1990 and their most goals conceded in a league season since 1979. Out of favour w...

Jadon Sancho: Update on Man Utd winger's possible return

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has issued an update on Jadon Sancho's progress after he was recently separated from the first-team for individual training. Sancho has stuttered once more in his second season at Old Trafford, despite flashes of brilliance under Ten Hag to begin with, and was sent away on an individual training programme as United embarked on a mid-season training camp to Spain ahead of club football's return. The club confirmed the plan was 'part of a process to get back to his highest level' with Sancho suffering from a loss of form and then illness in the weeks that proceeded the World Cup break. Ten Hag has offered the latest on the £73m winger , who missed out on England's World Cup squad, ahead of United's return to Premier League action. Asked if Sancho could be back for the Game against Nottingham Forest on 27 December, he replied: "I don't think so". Ahead of United taking on Burnley in the Carabao Cup, a game ...

Anthony Davis injury update: Lakers big man continues positive progress, could return next week

The Los Angeles Lakers have been without Anthony Davis for a full month, and his absence is beginning to take its toll. They've fallen five Game s below .500 and currently sit 13th in the Western Conference. Given their limited depth and the other injuries they're currently dealing with, the Lakers need Davis back on the floor as quickly as possible if they are hoping to secure a place in the postseason. Fortunately, the news surrounding Davis and his recovery continues to be positive . Davis continues to make pain-free progress on his right foot and there's optimism of a return to the lineup as soon as late next week, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Davis has been ramping up activity recently, and the Lakers are hoping to have him back before the All-Star break, at least.  The All-Star break will begin on Thursday, Feb. 16. A week earlier, another key date sits on the NBA calendar: the...

Warriors' Stephen Curry listed as probable to return on Tuesday vs. Suns

Stephen Curry is listed as probable to return to the lineup for the Golden State Warriors Tuesday against the Phoenix Suns. Curry has been out of the lineup since Dec. 14 after suffering a subluxation of his left shoulder against the Indiana Pacers. The team had initially hoped that he would return by this weekend, but after going through two practices, he is seemingly ready to take the floor again on Tuesday. Curry has missed Golden State's last 11 Game s but was having one of the best seasons of his career before his injury. He is averaging 30 points per Game for the third time in his career and is currently on pace for his second 50-40-90 shooting season. Before his injury, Curry was considered among the top MVP candidates, but Golden State's struggles as a team would have made it difficult for him to win the award. Fortunately, Golden State has seemingly figured things out in Curry's absence. ...
