The Houston Astros will host the Cincinnati Reds for Game two of their interleague series this Saturday from Minute Maid Park.

Reds Betting Preview

Cincinnati moved to 35-35 after defeating Houston. The Reds have now ripped off six Games, and they’ve now climbed all the way back to .500 after a strong start to the month. The Cincinnati offense is scoring 3.78 runs per Game, while batting .257, with a .334 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.96 ERA, with a 1.46 WHIP. Jonathan India went deep in the series finale versus the Royals, and he leads Cincy in hits (73), with splits of .273/8/36. Elly De La Cruz had a quiet series in KC, but he recorded a hit in six straight Games prior, and he should be back in the lineup after being given Friday night off. TJ Friedl has multiple hits in two of the last three Games, and he leads the team in batting (.321).

Hunter Greene (1-4, 4.01 ERA, 97 Ks) will get the call for Cincinnati. The second-year flamethrower pitched well enough to lead the Reds to a road victory over the Cardinals, tossing nine strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched. Greene has cleared eight strikeouts in each of the past five games, but he may face an uphill battle here with Houston.

Astros Betting Preview

Houston enters at 39-31 after falling to Cincinnati. The Astros’ rally was cut short by the Reds, and they’ll look to avoid a third straight loss Saturday.  The Houston offense is scoring 4.66 runs per Game, while batting .246, with a .314 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.32 ERA, with a 1.25 WHIP. Kyle Tucker has multiple hits in three straight Games, and he now leads the Astros in hits (70), with splits of .281/9/39. Jose Abreu has doubled in three of the last four Games, and he’s totaled 33 RBI for the season. Mauricio Dubon has a hit in seven of the last ten Games, and he leads Houston in batting (.290).

Brandon Bielak (3-3, 4.01 ERA, 34 Ks) will make the home start for Houston. The fourth-year pitcher found trouble in Cleveland last week, giving up five runs in five innings pitched against the Guardians. Bielak has struggled with consistency, but a return to Minute Maid could do him Justice, as he’s earned the win in his last two home starts.

Cincinnati vs Houston Trends

Cincinnati is 39-27 against the spread this season, with a 37-29 O/U record. Houston is 22-43 ATS this year, with a 27-36-2 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

Cincinnati nearly pulled off the shutout out en route to their sixth straight victory, but despite having a pitching advantage on the mound with Hunter Greene, I feel like Houston strikes back here in Game two. Yordan Alvarez’ absence was felt in Game one, but the ‘Stros came very close to walking things off last night, and there may be a sense of urgency to avoid a third straight loss here at Minute Maid. Trust the defending World Series champs, and back Houston to take Game of this interleague series.
