After beating Real Salt Lake in their MLS opener, Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami now visit Los Angeles Galaxy - a team who, like the Floridians, are aiming to return to the playoffs in 2024.

At Chase Stadium on Wednesday, goals by Robert Taylor and Diego Gómez earned a 2-0 win for a Miami side that endured indifferent preseason results, winning just once in seven MLS warm-ups.

The Galaxy also managed just the one victory in preseason - a 2-0 triumph at New York Red Bulls, in their final friendly before kicking off their campaign this weekend.

In 2023, Miami and LA both missed out on the playoffs by finishing second bottom of their respective MLS conferences.

Super League chief claims 20 clubs have agreed to join project

The co-founder of A22 Sports Management, the group behind the Super League project , has claimed that 20 clubs have already given their approval to joining the new com Pet ition if it ever gets off the ground.
